While Lyon was working for Jeff, Mr Urbanik(Sherman's lawyer) solicited Lyon to recruit other lawyers to make false claims against Jeff. Lyon's reward for acting in such an unethical manner? He was encouraged to make an additional claim against Jeff for $75,992.22, which he was granted, despite his clear contract which prohibited such claim.
When
Lyon was called to testify before Judge Stacey Jernigan about his
claim, he refused to testify.
However, Judge Jernigan has told Jeff that he is prohibited from contesting Lyon's claim in the involuntary bankruptcy. Yes, this does sound unimaginable, but it is true.In 2011, after Peter Vogel seized Jeff's money and became receiver, Gary Lyon was hired to work against Jeff once again. This time, Lyon was paid approximately 7 times his normal billing rate by Vogel, using Jeff's own money, to work to harm Jeff and his case (Lyon was hired specifically to "uncover hidden assets" that Lyon claimed Jeff had, although Lyon"uncovered" absolutely nothing after being paid a handsome fee for doing so.)
As a promotional piece on Gary Lyon's own website, he boasts about his "work" for Jeff as one of his great accomplishments: "In re Ondova Limited Company, Case Number 09-34784-sgj, United States Bankruptcy Court for the Northern District of Texas (an internet domain registrar – issues involving bankruptcy, internet commerce, asset protection, off-shore trusts)."
On the same site, Lyon also brags about supposedly being a devout, religious member of his church, claiming "Gary and his wife, Rachel, have lived in Collin County, Texas since 2003. He is active in his church, as well as a Local Coordinator for Academic Year in America which allows high school aged foreign exchange students to study for a year in the United States."
If these upstanding organizations only knew the real Gary Lyon.
